## Summary description

The 3M PF240W1EM privacy filter is designed for 24-inch widescreen monitors with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It features 3M COMPLY magnetic attachment technology for easy installation and removal. This filter protects sensitive information by limiting the viewing angle to the front, effectively preventing side-angle visual hacking while reducing glare and protecting the screen from scratches.

## Long description

The 3M PF240W1EM Privacy Filter is a high-quality screen protection solution specifically engineered for 24-inch widescreen monitors with a 16:10 aspect ratio. This filter utilizes advanced micro-louver technology to restrict the field of view, ensuring that on-screen data is only visible to the person directly in front of the display. By effectively blacking out the screen from side angles, it serves as a robust defense against visual hacking in open-plan offices, public spaces, or during travel. Beyond privacy, the filter provides a matte finish that reduces distracting glare and reflections, while simultaneously acting as a protective layer against dust, fingerprints, and minor surface scratches.
Advantages
The primary benefit of this privacy filter is the integration of 3M COMPLY magnetic attachment technology, which allows for seamless installation and removal without the need for adhesive strips or complex mounting hardware. This design ensures the filter stays securely in place during use but can be detached instantly when screen sharing is required. The filter maintains high clarity for the user while significantly darkening the display for anyone viewing from the sides. Furthermore, the durable material helps extend the lifespan of your monitor screen by providing a physical barrier against daily wear and tear.
Suitable for
Open-office environments where sensitive data is displayed
Public workspaces such as libraries or cafes
Professionals working with confidential financial or personal information
Users who frequently switch between privacy mode and collaborative screen sharing
When it may not be suitable
This filter is specifically designed for 24-inch monitors with a 16:10 aspect ratio and may not provide a proper fit for screens with different dimensions or aspect ratios. It is not intended for use on curved displays or monitors with integrated touch-screen bezels that require a flush fit.
Key specifications
Screen size compatibility: 24 inches
Aspect ratio: 16:10
Attachment method: Magnetic (3M COMPLY)
Finish: Matte (anti-glare)
Privacy technology: Micro-louver
How to use
To install the filter, ensure your monitor screen is clean and free of dust. Align the magnetic attachment strip with the top edge of your monitor frame. The magnetic system allows the filter to snap into place automatically. Once attached, the filter will immediately begin limiting the viewing angle. To remove, simply lift the filter from the magnetic edge. When not in use, store the filter in a clean, dry place to prevent damage to the micro-louver surface.
What to consider before purchase
Verify your monitor's exact screen size and aspect ratio
Check if your monitor bezel is compatible with magnetic attachments
Consider the lighting conditions of your workspace to maximize the anti-glare benefits
Usage recommendations
For optimal privacy performance, adjust your monitor brightness to a comfortable level, as higher brightness settings may slightly increase visibility from side angles. Clean the filter periodically using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to maintain visual clarity.
