## Long description

The ABUS MK2000W is a wired magnetic opening detector designed for perimeter protection of doors and windows. It consists of a magnet and a reed contact that are mounted parallel, in front of, or at right angles to each other with a minimum separation of 13 mm. When the distance between the magnet and reed increases by approximately 2 cm, the circuit closes and the detector reports an alarm to the alarm panel. The device supports both flush and surface mounting and is available in white.

Mount the magnet and the reed contact on the door or window and the corresponding frame so that they are aligned either parallel, in front of, or at right angles to each other with at least 13 mm spacing. Connect the wired cable to the alarm panel according to the panel manufacturer’s wiring instructions. The optimum mounting position is the middle of the frame; for tilt-open windows, mount the detector at the bottom of the frame. After installation, test the detector by opening the door or window to verify that separation of about 2 cm causes the alarm panel to register the event.
