## Long description

Aqua Nova Tigris Sand Yellow Decorative Aquarium Sand 2kg is a premium decorative yellow sand specifically designed for freshwater aquariums and aquascaping projects. This fine-grade substrate helps hobbyists recreate natural riverbed environments and significantly enhances the visual appeal of underwater layouts. With a convenient 2kg package size, it offers an optimal amount of material for smaller tanks, nano setups, or specific decorative accent areas within larger aquariums. The sand is carefully processed to ensure it provides a safe and comfortable environment for bottom-dwelling fish, invertebrates, and live aquarium plants.
Advantages
The Aqua Nova Tigris Sand provides a natural and visually striking yellow coloration that brightens up any freshwater aquarium setup. Its fine texture creates a smooth and uniform surface layer, closely mimicking natural riverbeds and supporting detailed aquascaping designs. The inert nature of the substrate ensures it does not negatively alter water chemistry parameters, making it predictable and stable for daily maintenance. Furthermore, the smooth grains prevent physical injury to bottom-dwelling species such as corydoras and loaches, allowing them to forage naturally without risk of abrasion.
Suitable for
Freshwater aquariums and community tanks
Aquascaping and natural biotope layouts
Nano aquariums and small desktop setups
Tanks housing bottom-dwelling fish and live plants
When it may not be suitable
This substrate may not be ideal for marine or brackish water setups that require specialized aragonite sand to buffer pH and carbonate hardness. Additionally, it might not provide sufficient primary root-feeding nutrients on its own for heavy root-feeders without the use of underlying nutrient-rich aqua soil or root tabs.
Key specifications
Product type: Decorative aquarium sand
Color: Yellow
Weight: 2 kg
Grain size: Fine
Application: Freshwater aquariums and aquascaping
How to use
Before introducing the sand into your aquarium, rinse it thoroughly in a clean bucket using lukewarm water to remove any residual dust from transport. Turn off your aquarium filter and lower the water level to make placement easier and prevent excessive clouding. Distribute the sand evenly across the bottom of the tank to your desired depth, gently sloping it towards the back for added visual perspective. Slowly fill the tank by pouring water over a flat surface, such as a small plate or saucer, to minimize substrate disturbance. Allow the water to settle and clear completely before turning your filter back on and introducing any livestock or live plants.
What to consider before purchase
Calculate the required volume of substrate based on your aquarium dimensions and desired depth
Verify compatibility with your planned fish species and aquatic flora
Consider combining with root fertilizers if keeping demanding live plants
Rinse the sand thoroughly before placement to ensure immediate water clarity and prevent initial clouding in your newly established aquarium.
