## Summary description

The Axis 02576-001 is a housing accessory designed for outdoor security cameras. It features a black and transparent design, ensuring durability and protection against the elements. This housing is essential for maintaining the functionality of security cameras in outdoor environments, providing a reliable solution for surveillance needs.

## Long description

The Housing Axis 02576-001 Outdoor Security Camera Black Transparent, also known as the AXIS TQ6811-E Dome Clear Hydrophilic, is a specialized accessory designed to enhance outdoor surveillance setups. Engineered to protect compatible Axis dome cameras, this housing ensures reliable performance in challenging weather conditions. Featuring a durable dome with a hydrophilic coating, it prevents water droplets from obscuring the lens during rain and provides a self-cleaning effect that uses rain to wash away dust and dirt. A hard-coated surface further protects the dome against scratches, maintaining clear video quality over extended periods of operation.
Advantages
The housing offers significant benefits for outdoor video surveillance by maintaining clear visibility in adverse weather. Its advanced hydrophilic coating actively prevents water accumulation and droplet formation on the optical surface, ensuring uninterrupted video recording during rainstorms. Furthermore, the self-cleaning property reduces maintenance frequency by allowing rainwater to rinse away accumulated dust and debris. The scratch-resistant hard coating extends the lifespan of the dome, ensuring durability and consistent optical clarity in demanding professional security environments.
Suitable for
Outdoor video surveillance in rainy or dusty environments
Protecting compatible Axis PTZ dome cameras against physical damage and weather elements
Professional security installations requiring low-maintenance optical components
Commercial, industrial, and public surveillance applications
When it may not be suitable
This housing is not suitable for indoor applications where weather resistance and hydrophilic coatings provide no functional advantage. It is also incompatible with camera models outside the specified Axis product line and cannot be used without a matching camera unit.
Key specifications
Accessory type: Hydrophilic dome housing
Color: Black and transparent
Coatings: Hydrophilic anti-water droplet coating and scratch-resistant hard coating
Self-cleaning mechanism: Rain-wash dirt removal
Compatibility: Designed for specific Axis Q63 series network cameras
How to use
Installation of the housing requires mounting it onto the compatible Axis security camera according to the manufacturer guidelines. Ensure that the optical surfaces are clean and free of oils before final assembly. Once securely installed, the housing operates passively, utilizing natural rain and environmental elements to activate its hydrophilic and self-cleaning properties. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure the physical integrity of the housing and to clear any heavy debris that natural rainfall cannot remove.
What to consider before purchase
Verify exact camera model compatibility before acquiring the accessory
Assess environmental conditions to ensure the hydrophilic coating matches site requirements
Confirm whether professional installation tools or assistance are needed
For optimal performance and longevity, inspect the dome periodically and clean it manually if heavy grime accumulates that cannot be washed away by light rain.
