## Long description

The Basil single pannier City Shopper 14–16L with MIK Hooks System in roasted brown is a practical urban bicycle bag designed for everyday commuting and shopping trips. Its 14–16 litre capacity provides space for groceries, personal items, a change of clothes or compact work essentials. The pannier uses the MIK Hooks System to attach quickly and securely to compatible MIK-ready rear racks, and its neutral roasted brown finish is intended to complement a range of city bike styles.
Advantages
This pannier combines a moderate carrying capacity with a compact profile suitable for city cycling, offering straightforward attachment and removal via the MIK Hooks System. The design focuses on practical utility for daily use: it keeps belongings organised during short errands or commutes and reduces the need to carry a shoulder bag. The roasted brown colour and clean lines provide a subtle aesthetic that integrates with most urban bike setups.
Suitable for
Daily commuting and short bike-to-work trips
Grocery shopping and small market runs
Carrying personal items, a light change of clothes or a lunchbox
Urban cyclists who use MIK-compatible rear racks
When it may not be suitable
With a capacity of 14–16 litres, this pannier is not intended for long-distance touring or multi-day trips that require large volumes of gear. It may not be suitable for users who need to carry bulky or heavy loads such as large tool kits, full-size laptops in protective cases, or camping equipment.
Key specifications
Capacity: 14–16 litres
Mounting system: MIK Hooks System compatible with MIK-ready rear racks
Intended use: urban commuting and shopping
Colour: roasted brown
How to use
Slide the pannier onto a MIK-ready rear rack so that the hooks engage with the rack profile, then secure any secondary locking mechanism if present to prevent unintended release. Pack items evenly to maintain bike balance and avoid overloading beyond the recommended capacity. To remove the pannier, release the lock or latch and lift the bag off the rack; use the top handle for carrying off-bike.
What to consider before purchase
Confirm your bike rack is MIK-ready or compatible with MIK Hooks System accessories
Assess whether 14–16 litres of capacity meets your regular carrying needs
Consider the bag size relative to your frame and rear wheel clearance
Decide if the roasted brown colour and design suit your bike and wardrobe
Usage recommendations
For balanced handling, place heavier items at the bottom and close to the bike frame. Regularly check the attachment points and the condition of the hooks, especially after heavy use or exposure to wet conditions. When riding at night or in low visibility, supplement with bike lights or reflective accessories since the pannier’s colour is neutral rather than high-visibility.
