## Long description

Basil Brooklyn 17L shoulder bag with MIK hooks in silvergreen is a single-shoulder urban and cycling bag designed for everyday commuting and short city trips. The 17-litre capacity provides space for personal items, small shopping, and essentials while keeping the bag compact and wearable across one shoulder. The bag is compatible with MIK mounting systems, allowing secure and quick attachment to MIK rails or compatible rear racks and carriers. Durable textiles and a practical layout support organized storage and frequent use in urban environments.
Advantages
The bag combines a moderate 17L volume with MIK-compatible hooks for stable mounting and easy removal. A single-shoulder design offers quick access while walking or cycling, and durable exterior materials resist daily wear. The construction focuses on organized internal space and ease of handling during commutes and short errands.
Suitable for
Urban commuters who need a compact shoulder bag with mounting capability
Cyclists using racks or platforms equipped with MIK rails
Everyday errands, light shopping, and transport of personal items
Short city trips where quick attachment and removal are useful
When it may not be suitable
The Basil Brooklyn 17L shoulder bag is not intended for heavy touring or carrying large volumes of equipment; its 17-litre capacity limits how much gear can be transported. It may not be ideal for long-distance bikepacking or multi-day trips where larger panniers or backpacks are required.
Key specifications
Volume: 17 litres
Mounting: MIK-compatible hooks for attachment to MIK rails and compatible racks
Design: single-shoulder (crossbody/shoulder) style for quick access
Primary use: urban cycling and everyday commuting
Material characteristics: durable textile exterior suitable for regular city use
How to use
Attach the Basil Brooklyn bag to a compatible MIK rail or rack by engaging the MIK hooks and ensuring the bag is locked into place. When riding, wear it across one shoulder or attach it to the bike for hands-free transport. Use internal compartments to separate essentials such as a wallet, phone, keys and small accessories. Remove the bag quickly by releasing the MIK hooks when you reach your destination.
What to consider before purchase
Confirm that your rack or platform is MIK-compatible or equipped with a MIK rail to use the mounting hooks
Assess whether a 17L volume meets your daily carrying needs
Consider how you prefer to carry items: on-bike mounted or worn on the shoulder
Usage recommendations
For secure and reliable mounting, regularly check the engagement of the MIK hooks with your rack and avoid overloading the bag beyond its 17L capacity. For urban use, keep heavier items closer to the bike when mounted and distribute weight evenly when wearing it on the shoulder.
