## Long description

The Basil Brooklyn double pannier bag offers 41 litres of combined carrying capacity in a single, waterproof package designed for everyday cycling. Built with a MIK-compatible mounting system, this double pannier secures to compatible racks without tools and provides integrated clips and carrying handles for quick transitions between bike and on-foot transport. The navy finish and streamlined shape suit urban and touring bicycles, while the waterproof construction protects items from rain and splashes during commutes or grocery runs.
Advantages
Waterproof construction and taped seams help keep contents dry in wet conditions. The MIK system enables secure, tool-free attachment to racks designed for MIK plates, ensuring stable riding and easy removal. Integrated clips, carrying handles and a balanced double-bag layout distribute weight evenly and make it simple to carry items off the bike. The 41 L total capacity provides room for daily essentials, shopping or light touring gear without excessive bulk.
Suitable for
Commuting in urban and suburban environments
Grocery shopping and running errands
Weekend touring and light bikepacking
Transporting work items, clothing or small equipment
When it may not be suitable
This double pannier is not intended for carrying oversized or irregularly shaped cargo that cannot fit within the bag volumes. It may not be suitable for racks that are not compatible with MIK mounting hardware unless an adapter or alternative mounting solution is used. For heavy-duty expedition touring requiring very large capacity or specialized frame packing, larger or additional luggage systems may be preferable.
Key specifications
Total capacity: 41 litres (combined)
Mounting: MIK-compatible mounting system for tool-free attachment
Material: waterproof fabric with sealed seams
Color: navy
Carrying features: integrated clips and carrying handles for off-bike transport
How to use
Attach the pannier to a compatible rack by engaging the MIK plate into the rack’s receiver and securing any secondary clips or latches provided. Distribute weight evenly between the two sides and avoid overloading beyond the rack’s rated capacity. Use the carrying handles and clips to remove the bag quickly from the rack for short walks or shopping. Wipe the exterior clean and allow to air dry after use in wet conditions to maintain waterproof performance.
What to consider before purchase
Check that your rear rack is MIK-compatible or that you have an appropriate adapter
Confirm the 41 L combined capacity meets your regular load requirements
Ensure your bicycle frame clearance accommodates the double pannier without interfering with wheels or brakes
Consider how you will handle heavier loads and the rack’s weight limit
Usage recommendations
For safe and stable riding, pack heavier items low and close to the rack, balance load between both panniers, and secure loose items inside the compartments to prevent shifting. Regularly check mounting hardware before each ride and follow rack weight limits to avoid damage to the rack or bag.
