## Summary description

Basil Bicycle Crate M is a versatile front or rear bicycle basket with 29.5 L capacity made from recycled synthetic material in bluestone color. ## Long description

The Basil Bicycle Crate M is a practical bicycle basket with 29.5 L capacity made from recycled synthetic material in a bluestone finish. It is designed to mount on either front carriers or rear luggage racks and provides a spacious, lightweight storage solution for daily use. The crate is water-resistant and shaped to fit common carrier dimensions, combining ease of handling with straightforward attachment and removal.
Advantages
The basket is lightweight yet durable thanks to its recycled synthetic construction, which resists moisture and basic wear. Its 29.5 litre capacity offers room for groceries, a backpack or daily commuting items while maintaining compact external dimensions for stable riding. Attachment points are designed for compatibility with standard front carriers and rear racks, allowing use in multiple mounting positions. The bluestone colour provides a neutral, low-maintenance appearance that hides dirt and scuffs.
Suitable for
Carrying groceries and shopping on short urban trips
Transporting a backpack, smaller bags or parcels
Daily commuting items such as a change of clothes, lunch or documents
Use on front carriers or rear luggage racks on city and trekking bicycles
When it may not be suitable
This crate is not intended for heavy industrial loads or for transporting very large or awkwardly shaped items that exceed the 29.5 L capacity. It is water-resistant but not fully waterproof; prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submerged conditions may allow water ingress. For riders requiring rigid metal frames, heavy-duty security features, or integrated locking systems, this recycled synthetic crate may not meet those specific needs.
Key specifications
Capacity: 29.5 litres
Material: recycled synthetic
Colour: bluestone
Mounting positions: compatible with front carriers and rear luggage racks
Weight: lightweight construction for easy handling
Water resistance: resists moisture, not fully waterproof
How to use
Position the crate on the carrier or rack so that it sits securely on the supporting rails. Use the crate’s attachment points or mounting bracket to fasten it according to the carrier or rack interface; depending on the rack, this may involve clamps, straps or simple slide-and-lock fittings. Ensure the load is evenly distributed and secured to prevent shifting while riding. To remove, release the fastenings and lift the crate clear of the carrier. Regularly check fastenings for wear and re-tighten as needed.
What to consider before purchase
Check your bicycle’s carrier or rack compatibility with the crate’s mounting system
Consider the 29.5 L capacity relative to typical items you plan to carry
Decide whether water-resistant recycled synthetic material meets your weather and durability expectations
Confirm that the bluestone colour suits your bicycle and personal preference
Usage recommendations
For safe riding, distribute weight evenly and avoid overloading the crate beyond its capacity. Use additional fastening or bungee cords for irregular loads, and remove the crate from the bike when leaving it unattended to reduce theft risk. Clean the synthetic material with mild soap and water and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve appearance.
