## Summary description

The Camlink CL-30.5ND4 is a neutral density camera lens filter with a size of 3.05 cm, designed to reduce the amount of light entering the lens without affecting color balance. This black filter helps photographers achieve slower shutter speeds or wider apertures in bright lighting conditions, making it ideal for capturing motion blur in water or shooting with shallow depth of field outdoors. Supplied as a single pack.

## Long description

The Camlink CL-30.5ND4 Neutral Density Camera Lens Filter 3.05 cm Black is a specialized optical accessory designed to reduce the amount of light entering the camera lens without altering the overall color balance of the image. This neutral density filter is an essential tool for photographers and videographers who need to manage bright lighting conditions effectively, allowing for greater creative control over exposure settings such as shutter speed and aperture size.
Advantages
By evenly reducing light transmission to one-quarter of the original amount, this neutral density filter enables the use of slower shutter speeds or wider apertures even in bright daylight. This capability helps achieve professional visual effects like motion blur in flowing water or a shallow depth of field for portraiture. It performs exceptionally well when subduing intense light in challenging environments such as skiing destinations and bright beach sceneries, preventing overexposure and preserving delicate highlight details.
Suitable for
Capturing motion blur in waterfalls, rivers, and ocean waves
Shooting portraits outdoors with a shallow depth of field
Controlling exposure in bright skiing and beach sceneries
Digital photography, film photography, and video camcorder recording
When it may not be suitable
This filter may not be appropriate for extremely low-light environments, indoor photography, or nighttime shooting, as reducing the light transmission further will result in underexposed images. It is also unsuitable for camera lenses that do not match the 3.05 cm diameter unless used with a proper step-up or step-down adapter ring.
Key specifications
Filter type: Neutral density camera lens filter
Filter factor: NDx4 (reduces light transmission to 1/4)
Size: 3.05 cm
Color: Black
Compatible devices: Video camcorders, digital cameras, and film cameras
How to use
To use the neutral density filter, gently screw it onto the front thread of a compatible 3.05 cm camera lens until securely fastened. Ensure the lens surface is clean before attachment to prevent dust or smudges from interfering with image clarity. Adjust your camera settings to compensate for the reduced light if shooting in manual mode, or rely on the camera's auto-exposure system to calculate the correct shutter speed and aperture combination.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your camera lens thread diameter is exactly 3.05 cm
Determine if an ND4 density level meets your specific lighting control requirements
Ensure compatibility with your primary shooting scenarios, such as bright daylight landscapes or video recording
For best results, store the neutral density filter in a protective case when not in use and clean it exclusively with specialized optical microfiber cloths to prevent scratches on the lens coating.
