Tile Joint Mortar CERESIT CE40 5 kg, grout for joints and seams
CERESIT CE40 joint mortar in a 5 kg pack is a cement-based grout formulated for filling joints between ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles and similar floor or wall coverings. The product is supplied as a dry powder to be mixed with water to form a workable grout paste. It is designed for typical renovation and installation tasks where a ready-to-mix grout is required and where durable seam filling and surface finishing are needed.
The CE40 grout offers consistent workability after mixing, enabling smooth application into narrow and standard-width joints. Its cementitious composition delivers good adhesion to ceramic surfaces and mechanical strength after curing. The product is suitable for both floors and walls and can be used in domestic and light-commercial interior applications. Packaged in a 5 kg bag, it is convenient for small to medium tiling jobs and repair works.
This cement-based grout is not formulated for continuous exterior exposure in severe freeze–thaw climates without additional protective measures. It may not be the best choice for areas subject to strong chemical exposure or heavy industrial traffic where epoxy or polymer-modified grouts are preferred. Very wide joints or highly flexible substrates may require specialized grout or joint filler products.
Prepare a clean, dry surface and ensure joints are free of dust, adhesive residues and loose material. Mix the dry powder with the recommended amount of clean water to obtain a homogeneous, lump-free paste with workable consistency. Apply the grout using a rubber float or grout trowel, pressing the material firmly into joints and removing excess from tile faces. After initial setting, clean the tile surfaces with a damp sponge and finish joints by tool or sponge when appropriate. Allow the grout to cure undisturbed according to ambient conditions and manufacturer guidance before subjecting to regular traffic or moisture exposure.
Use within recommended mixing ratios and apply at moderate temperatures and humidity. Protect fresh grout from rapid drying or water exposure during initial curing. For best results, follow the manufacturer’s technical sheet and perform a small test application if unsure about colour or adhesion.
