Ceresit deep penetration primer CT 17 is a professional priming product designed to consolidate and prepare mineral substrates before tiling, floor installation, plastering or filling. The formulation improves surface adhesion while reducing substrate absorbency, ensuring uniform and safe application of subsequent layers. CT 17 is particularly useful where fast drying of adhesives or fillers may occur due to weak or highly porous bases.
Advantages
The water-dispersed synthetic resin in CT 17 penetrates deeply into the material structure, strengthening the surface without significantly increasing its overall mechanical strength. The product is suitable for both interior and exterior use on render, concrete, solid floors and other absorbent substrates. It is recommended for gypsum, aerated concrete, chipboard and untreated gypsum plasterboard. The yellow tint provides visual control of application quality on uneven surfaces.

How to use
Ensure the substrate is dry, load-bearing and free from dust, grease and other contaminants that reduce adhesion. Very absorbent or weak substrates can be diluted with water up to 1:1. Apply CT 17 with a brush in one or more coats using a wet-on-wet method. Allow the primer to dry — average drying time is about 2 hours but may vary with substrate absorbency and environmental conditions.
Usage recommendations
Apply within the recommended temperature range (+5 to +25 °C). Ensure uniform coverage using the yellow tint as a guide. Do not apply on frozen surfaces or during heavy rain when used outdoors.
