## Long description

DEUTER Futura 21 SL is a women's trekking backpack with 21 L capacity and an SL short back fit designed specifically for female anatomy. The pack in polar/bluejay combines a compact main compartment with external pockets and an ergonomic suspension system to balance load and ventilation. The model is intended for day hikes, urban mobility and light travel where a reliable, well-shaped carry system and easy access to essentials are required.
Advantages
The SL fit shortens torso length and narrows shoulder straps to improve comfort for women. An ergonomic Aircomfort-style suspension promotes airflow along the back and reduces heat build-up during activity. Multiple external pockets and attachment points offer organized storage and quick access to bottles, maps and small gear. Lightweight construction and a contoured hip belt stabilize the load without adding unnecessary bulk.
Suitable for
Day hikes and nature walks
Commuting and city trips
Light overnight or multi-day minimalist travel
Cycling, sightseeing and outdoor excursions where compact volume is preferred
Key specifications
Volume: 21 litres
Fit: SL (short back, female-specific)
Main compartment: compact, top-loading access
Suspension: ergonomic system with enhanced back ventilation
External organization: front pocket, side pockets and small accessory pockets
Shoulder straps: contoured and narrower for women's anatomy
Hip belt: contoured, adjustable for load stability
Weight: light construction suitable for day use
How to use
Pack heavier items close to the back and centred in the main compartment to maintain balance. Use external pockets for items you need to access quickly, such as a water bottle, map or phone. Adjust shoulder straps, sternum strap and hip belt so the pack sits comfortably on the hips and the weight is transferred to the pelvis. For active walking, open the ventilation channels by ensuring the back panel aligns with the body to allow airflow.
Usage recommendations
Regularly check strap adjustments and redistribute contents for long days to reduce fatigue. For wet conditions, store electronics in waterproof sleeves and consider an external rain cover compatible with compact trekking packs.
