## Summary description

Self-regulating DEVI ICE heating cable designed for anti-icing and frost protection. Rated at 30 W per meter with a total output of 2460 W over 82 m, the cable maintains surface temperatures to prevent ice buildup on roofs, gutters, pipes and outdoor walkways. Suitable for outdoor and exposed installations where freeze protection and energy-efficient temperature control are required.

## Long description

The DEVI ICE self-regulating heating cable is designed for anti-icing and frost protection on roofs, gutters, downpipes, external drains and exposed outdoor surfaces. With a rated heat output of 30 W per metre and a total cable length of 82 m (total output 2460 W), this cable maintains surface temperatures to prevent ice formation and reduce the risk of blocked drainage and structural damage. The product is intended for outdoor installations where reliable freeze protection and energy-efficient operation are required.
Advantages
The self-regulating design automatically adjusts power output along the cable length according to local temperature, reducing energy consumption compared with constant-power heating elements. The cable is suitable for continuous exposure to outdoor conditions and provides localized heat where needed, limiting wasted energy. Its compact construction allows routing along gutters, roof valleys, downpipes and the perimeter of walkways without bulky mats or large heating elements.
Suitable for
Roof valleys and eaves to prevent icicle formation
Gutters and downpipes to maintain drainage paths
External drains and scuppers to avoid blockages from ice
Outdoor stairways, ramps or walkways for localized anti-icing
Pipe freeze protection on exposed sections of piping
When it may not be suitable
This cable is designed specifically for anti-icing and frost protection on exposed surfaces and is not intended as a primary space-heating solution inside buildings. It may not be appropriate where concealed installation in continuous thermal insulation is required without following manufacturer guidance. For installations requiring low-voltage or intrinsically safe heating, consult the relevant heater type rather than using this mains-rated cable.
Key specifications
Power density: 30 W per metre (at rated conditions)
 Total cable length: 82 m
 Total heat output: 2460 W
Application: outdoor anti-icing and frost protection for surfaces and pipes
Operating principle: self-regulating power output based on local temperature
How to use
Install the heating cable along the areas requiring freeze protection following local electrical regulations and the manufacturer’s detailed installation instructions. Fix the cable to gutters, roof valleys, downpipes or around pipes using appropriate clips, stainless-steel straps or UV-resistant fixings; avoid crossing or overlapping the cable. Connect the cable to a properly rated supply circuit and, where applicable, use a temperature or moisture sensor and a control unit to start and stop heating according to conditions. After installation, perform insulation and continuity checks and periodic inspections to verify the cable and connections remain intact.
What to consider before purchase
Length required for the run and total heat output needed for the application
Compatibility with local mains supply and required circuit protection
Whether a control device (thermostat, sensor or timer) is needed for energy-efficient operation
Mounting method and suitable UV-resistant or corrosion-resistant fixings for outdoor exposure
Usage recommendations
For effective anti-icing, plan the cable layout to cover drainage paths and critical roof valleys, and use a control device to limit run time to freezing conditions. Regularly inspect external fixings and electrical connections before and after the winter season to ensure continued performance and safety.
