## Summary description

DEVI ICE heating cable is a self-regulating anti-icing cable with a power rating of 30 W/m, total output 3750 W over 125 m. Designed for roof and gutter de-icing, pipe freeze protection and snow-melting applications, it adjusts heat output with temperature changes to prevent ice build-up while reducing energy use.

## Long description

DEVI ICE 30W/m is a self-regulating anti-icing heating cable designed to prevent ice and snow accumulation on roofs, gutters and exposed pipes. With a rated linear power of 30 W per metre and a total installed capacity of 3750 W across 125 m, the cable increases heat output at low ambient temperatures and reduces output as temperatures rise, allowing automatic adaptation to changing weather conditions while limiting energy consumption.
Advantages
The self-regulating design provides variable power output along the cable length, reducing the risk of overheating and shortening warm-up time where heat is required most. Its continuous construction is suitable for long runs across roof edges, gutters and downpipes, and the cable is designed for outdoor use in typical de-icing and snow-melting installations. The product supports simplified installation patterns for linear roof heating applications and offers consistent performance in cold environments.
Suitable for
Roof edge and gutter de-icing to prevent icicles and blockages
Downpipe and external pipe freeze protection
Snow-melting along roof valleys, ramps or walkways when installed according to guidelines
When it may not be suitable
This cable is intended for anti-icing and freeze-prevention use and is not a general-purpose space heating solution. It requires proper planning of circuit length, power supply and thermal controls; excessively long runs without segmentation or incorrect installation may reduce effectiveness. Where local regulations or specific load limitations apply, consult an installer or electrical professional to ensure compliance.
Key specifications
Nominal linear power: 30 W/m (at reference conditions)
 Total installed power: 3750 W for a 125 m length
 Length: 125 m (continuous cable)
Self-regulating heating element that adjusts output with ambient temperature
Intended application: roof/gutter de-icing, pipe freeze protection, snow-melting
How to use
Plan the cable layout according to roof geometry, gutter runs and pipe lengths. Fix the cable securely following manufacturer guidance so that it maintains contact with the surface to be heated, and avoid crossing or overlapping the cable. Connect the cable to a suitably rated power supply and protective device, and use a thermostat, ice/snow sensor or controller as required for automated operation. After installation, verify continuity, insulation resistance and correct functioning before energising the system.
What to consider before purchase
Confirm the required total power and cable length for your roof, gutter or pipe layout
Check available supply capacity and circuit protection to match the cable's total power
Plan for appropriate controllers, sensors and professional installation if not experienced with electrical heating systems
Usage recommendations
For reliable anti-icing performance, combine the DEVI ICE cable with an ice/snow sensor or a temperature-controlled thermostat and ensure correct spacing and secure attachment along gutters and roof edges. Regularly inspect the system before and after winter seasons and follow local electrical codes and manufacturer installation instructions.
