The Digitus DA-71118 is a 2.5" SATA HDD enclosure that lets you install an M.2 or mSATA SSD in a PC or notebook and use it like a standard 2.5" SATA drive. The aluminium housing has a low installation height of 7 mm, supports SATA III (6 Gbit/s) and allows booting from the installed SSD. Supported drives include M.2 (NGFF) sizes 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 with B-Key or B+M-Key, and full-size mSATA (Mini PCIe 52 PIN). M.2 NVMe SSDs with M-Key are not supported.
Advantages
The aluminium enclosure provides physical protection and a compact 7 mm profile suitable for most notebooks and desktop bays. The SATA III interface enables up to 6 Gbit/s transfer and reading speeds up to approximately 520 MB/s depending on the SSD.
