The markers use a water-based pigment ink formulated to be extremely lightfast and to dry waterproof and smudge-proof, while resisting wear and heat on most surfaces. The kit is made in Germany and compatible with Edding PTK 25 refills and Edding 30/31/380 spare nibs.
