## Long description

The Equip DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI Active Adapter 4K 60Hz Black with Gold-Placed Contacts and Aluminum Housing is a reliable video converter designed to link your DisplayPort-enabled desktop PC or laptop directly to an HDMI monitor, television, or projector. Built with an active conversion chip, this compact 0.15-meter cable adapter delivers stunning Ultra HD resolution up to 4K at 60Hz. It incorporates essential video technologies such as HDR and HDCP 1.4/2.2 support, making it fully equipped to transmit protected 4K multimedia content from modern streaming platforms and Blu-ray players with vivid colors, deep contrast, and a high bandwidth of 18 Gbps for smooth visual performance.
Advantages
The adapter features a robust aluminum housing combined with gold-plated connector contacts, which collectively contribute to dependable signal transmission, minimized interference, and enhanced heat dissipation during extended use. Its plug-and-play functionality ensures that users can set up multi-monitor configurations instantly without the need to install external drivers or connect separate power cables. The active conversion mechanism guarantees compatibility with both standard DisplayPort and multi-mode DP++ graphics card outputs, ensuring seamless signal translation across various hardware setups.
Suitable for
Connecting DisplayPort laptops to external HDMI monitors for office work
Mirroring desktop screens onto conference room projectors for presentations
Streaming 4K HDR entertainment from a PC to an HD television
Extending workstations for multitasking with high-resolution displays
When it may not be suitable
This active adapter is unidirectional and only transmits signals from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display, meaning it cannot be used in reverse to send an HDMI source signal to a DisplayPort monitor. Additionally, it is not designed to support resolutions or refresh rates exceeding DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 specifications, such as 8K displays or gaming setups requiring 120Hz at 4K resolution.
Key specifications
DisplayPort 1.2 male to HDMI female active conversion
Maximum supported resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60Hz
Bandwidth capacity up to 18 Gbps
Supports HDR and HDCP 1.4/2.2 content protection
Cable length of 0.15 meters
Gold-plated connector contacts
Aluminum housing in black color
How to use
To use the Equip DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI Active Adapter, first ensure that your computer and display devices are powered on or set to standby. Insert the DisplayPort male connector firmly into the DisplayPort output port of your desktop computer or laptop, making sure it clicks or sits securely in place. Next, connect a standard HDMI cable from your external monitor, TV, or projector into the HDMI female port of the adapter. Your operating system should automatically detect the second display, allowing you to adjust display settings, screen resolution, and operating modes such as duplicate or extend directly from your graphics settings menu.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your computer has a working DisplayPort output and your display device uses an HDMI input
Check that your source graphics card supports active DisplayPort conversion if needed
Confirm that your intended use aligns with the maximum 4K at 60Hz resolution limit
Usage recommendations
For optimal performance and stable high-resolution video transmission, avoid bending the short 0.15-meter cable too sharply near the connector joints and ensure that both the DisplayPort and HDMI connections are completely pushed in without strain.
