## Summary description

Goobay CAT 6A network cable, model 96097, featuring an unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP) construction and a length of 305 meters in a blue color. Designed for reliable data transmission and high-speed local area network connections in residential or commercial networking setups.

## Long description

The Goobay CAT 6A Network Cable U/UTP 305m Blue is a high-quality unshielded twisted pair cable designed for reliable data transmission and high-speed local area network connections. Supplied in a generous 305-meter length, this blue network cable is suited for both residential and commercial networking installations where structured cabling is required. It provides a dependable physical medium for setting up stable wired networks and connecting various network devices.
Advantages
This network cable offers a substantial length of 305 meters, making it practical for larger installations and custom cable cutting to fit specific distances between network points. The unshielded twisted pair design ensures flexibility and straightforward handling during installation through walls, conduits, or drop ceilings. Its CAT 6A specification supports high-speed data transfer rates, ensuring efficient performance for everyday internet traffic, file transfers, and streaming. The distinct blue color helps with cable management and visual identification within complex patch panels or switch racks.
Suitable for
Setting up local area networks in homes and offices
Custom-length cable runs for structured cabling systems
Connecting computers, switches, routers, and patch panels
Professional and DIY network installations
When it may not be suitable
This cable is an unshielded U/UTP construction and may not be suitable for environments with high levels of electromagnetic interference, such as industrial plants with heavy machinery or areas running parallel to high-voltage power lines, where shielded cables are typically required. Additionally, it is supplied as bulk cable without pre-terminated connectors, meaning it is not ideal for users who need a ready-to-use patch cord right out of the box without crimping tools.
Key specifications
Cable type: U/UTP
Cable length: 305m
Colour: Blue
Net weight: 1.85kg
Gross weight: 2.10kg
How to use
To use this cable, carefully measure the required distance between your network devices, allowing a small amount of extra length for routing and termination. Cut the desired length from the 305-meter spool and strip the outer jacket carefully to expose the internal twisted pairs. Terminate the ends with compatible RJ45 modular connectors following standard wiring schemes such as T568A or T568B using a proper crimping tool. Once terminated, test the cable continuity with a network tester before connecting your active network equipment.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that an unshielded U/UTP cable meets your networking environment requirements regarding electrical interference
Ensure you have the necessary connectors, crimping tools, and cable testers for installation
Check that the 305-meter length is appropriate for your project scale
Confirm that CAT 6A performance specifications align with your network hardware capabilities
Usage recommendations
Always maintain proper bend radii during installation to prevent internal wire damage, avoid excessive pulling tension, and keep the cable away from electrical power lines to maintain optimal signal integrity.
