## Summary description

Hensel AXM 20 cable gland designed for safe electrical installations in hazardous areas, specifically zones 2 and 22. This M20 black threaded fitting offers reliable IP66 protection against dust and water ingress. It accommodates cables with a diameter of 8 to 13 mm, ensuring secure retention and environmental sealing in industrial and demanding commercial applications.

## Long description

The Hensel AXM 20 Ex-cable gland is a high-quality component engineered for secure and reliable cable entry in industrial environments classified as hazardous areas. Specifically designed for use in zones 2 and 22, this M20 cable gland provides a robust solution for maintaining electrical integrity and safety. With an IP66 protection rating, it offers excellent resistance against dust ingress and powerful water jets, ensuring that internal connections remain protected from harsh environmental conditions.
Advantages
This cable gland stands out due to its specialized construction that meets stringent safety requirements for explosive atmospheres. The design incorporates effective strain relief, which prevents mechanical stress on the cable and ensures a long-lasting connection. Its durable material composition provides high mechanical stability, making it suitable for demanding industrial settings where reliability is paramount. The precise M20 threading allows for straightforward installation while maintaining a tight seal that prevents moisture and debris from entering the enclosure.
Suitable for
Industrial installations in hazardous zones 2 and 22
Electrical enclosures requiring IP66 ingress protection
Applications involving cables with a diameter between 8 mm and 13 mm
Environments where dust and moisture protection is critical
When it may not be suitable
This product is not intended for use in zones 0 or 1, where different safety standards and equipment certifications are required. It is also not suitable for cables outside the specified diameter range of 8-13 mm, as this would compromise the sealing effectiveness and safety rating.
Key specifications
Thread size: M20
Protection rating: IP66
Cable diameter range: 8-13 mm
Hazardous area classification: Zones 2 and 22
How to use
To install the Hensel AXM 20, first ensure that the enclosure is de-energized and suitable for the intended hazardous zone. Insert the cable through the gland and tighten the cap to the manufacturer's specified torque to ensure the internal seal compresses correctly around the cable jacket. Proper tightening is essential to achieve the IP66 rating and to provide the necessary strain relief for the cable.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that the installation area is classified as zone 2 or 22
Ensure the cable diameter falls strictly within the 8-13 mm range
Check that the enclosure thread matches the M20 specification
Usage recommendations
Always follow local electrical codes and safety regulations when installing equipment in hazardous areas. Regularly inspect the cable gland for signs of mechanical damage or environmental degradation to maintain the integrity of the IP66 seal.
