## Long description

The HP G2 Enterprise Pallet Rack Freestanding 42U 1361 kg Black is a professional-grade server cabinet designed to organize and secure mission-critical IT infrastructure in enterprise data centers and dedicated server rooms. Built with a robust freestanding structure, this 42U rack efficiently maximizes vertical space while accommodating high-density computing hardware, networking switches, and storage systems. Its durable construction ensures reliable daily operation and secure housing for heavy enterprise equipment.
Advantages
This enterprise rack features a fully welded, roll-formed design combined with heavy-gauge rails and heavy-duty castors to deliver exceptional structural integrity and support a maximum weight capacity of 1361 kg. The thoughtful design includes repositioned vertical EIA rails for optimized front-to-rear cabling, bristle-covered cable access slots to prevent air mixing, and a removable, reversible canopy with pre-installed brush strips for large cable pass-through. Additionally, the universal lock tooling supports the integration of advanced physical, electronic, and biometric security solutions.
Suitable for
Data center server and networking equipment storage
High-density IT infrastructure organization
Pre-configured IT equipment shipping via shock pallet models
Environments requiring enhanced physical security and cable management
When it may not be suitable
This freestanding rack may not be suitable for small office environments, home setups, or locations with restricted floor space and low weight capacity ceilings. Due to its large 42U height and industrial-grade dimensions, it is also impractical for deploying single desktop units or minimal networking gear.
Key specifications
Rack capacity: 42U
Maximum weight capacity: 1361 kg
Type: Freestanding rack
Product colour: Black
Flush-mount side panels for baying
How to use
Position the freestanding rack on a solid, level data center floor with unobstructed access to the bottom cable entry points. Install your servers, storage arrays, and networking switches into the 42U vertical rails, making sure to distribute the weight evenly up to the 1361 kg maximum limit. Route power cables and data lines through the brush-strip access slots and bristle-covered openings to maintain proper airflow and separation. Secure the enclosure using standard physical locks or optional biometric security solutions integrated into the universal lock tooling.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your designated installation area has sufficient vertical clearance for a 42U rack and adequate floor load capacity for a 1361 kg total weight limit.
Assess your cable management requirements and ensure compatibility with front-to-rear cabling layouts.
Check whether pre-configured shipping via shock pallet models is needed for your deployment strategy.
Determine if specialized physical or electronic security options are required for your facility.
Usage recommendations
Distribute heavy IT components evenly across the lower sections of the 42U rack to maintain optimal physical stability. Regularly inspect cable access slots and brush strips to ensure proper airflow separation and secure routing inside the cabinet.
