## Long description

The Weidmüller Cat6a S/FTP Networking Cable Lapp 1165940020 is a 2-meter grey Ethernet cable designed for stable and high-speed data transmission in professional office and industrial environments. Featuring male RJ-45 connectors on both ends, this network cable provides a reliable physical link for modern local area networks. Built to Cat6a standards and equipped with S/FTP shielding, it effectively minimizes electromagnetic interference and crosstalk to maintain signal integrity over extended operational periods.
Advantages
This networking cable utilizes advanced S/FTP shielding technology, which provides a robust barrier against external electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. Such shielding ensures consistent data transfer speeds and reduces packet loss in environments with high electrical noise. The inclusion of standard RJ-45 male connectors on both ends guarantees broad compatibility with common network hardware, switches, routers, and patch panels. Constructed for durability, the 2-meter length offers an optimal balance between reach and cable management neatness, preventing excess slack behind equipment racks and desks.
Suitable for
Connecting desktop computers and workstations to network switches
Linking patch panels in server rooms and telecommunication racks
Setting up high-speed Ethernet connections in office environments
Industrial networking applications requiring shielded Cat6a performance
When it may not be suitable
This cable may not be suitable for outdoor installations or harsh industrial environments that require specialized waterproof or armored cabling solutions. Additionally, the fixed length of 2 meters is too short for long-distance runs between different rooms or buildings.
Key specifications
Cable length: 2 m
Cable standard: Cat6a
Cable shielding: S/FTP (S-STP)
Connector 1: RJ-45 Male
Connector 2: RJ-45 Male
Product colour: Grey
How to use
To use the networking cable, inspect both ends for any visible debris or damage before installation. Insert the RJ-45 male connector into the designated network port of your device, such as a computer, router, or switch, until you hear a distinct click indicating that the locking tab is engaged. Repeat the process for the second connector to complete the link. Ensure the cable is routed safely without sharp bends or excessive tension to maintain optimal performance.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that a 2-meter length is sufficient for the distance between your networked devices
Confirm that your equipment supports RJ-45 connections and Cat6a speeds
Check if S/FTP shielding is required for your specific installation environment
Usage recommendations: Avoid pulling the cable by the cord during disconnection; always press the plastic locking tab on the RJ-45 connector to release it safely. Keep the cable away from direct heat sources and sharp edges to prevent damage to the internal conductors and shielding.
