## Summary description

The Lapp ÖLFLEX Spiral 540 P is a high-quality spiral cable designed for flexible applications requiring durability and resistance. With a length of 1 m and a rated voltage of 300/500 V, this cable is ideal for industrial machinery and equipment where movement is frequent. Its robust construction ensures reliable performance in demanding environments, providing excellent mechanical strength and flexibility for various electrical connection needs.

## Long description

The Lapp ÖLFLEX Spiral 540 P is a high-performance, halogen-free spiral cable engineered for demanding industrial environments. Designed with a robust polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath, this cable offers exceptional mechanical strength and resistance to oils, lubricants, and various chemical agents. Its spiral design provides high restoring forces, allowing it to extend up to 3.5 times its original length while maintaining reliable electrical connectivity for moving machinery and equipment.
Advantages
This cable stands out due to its superior durability and flexibility in harsh conditions. The high-quality PUR material ensures long-lasting performance even when exposed to mineral oils, diluted acids, or alkaline solutions. Its bright yellow signal color enhances visibility and safety in busy industrial settings. Furthermore, the halogen-free construction makes it a safer choice for environments where fire safety is a priority, while the high recoiling force ensures the cable returns to its compact form consistently after extension.
Suitable for
Industrial machinery and automated production lines
Equipment requiring frequent movement and extension
Applications in harsh climatic environments
Power and control systems in mechanical engineering
When it may not be suitable
This cable is specifically designed for applications requiring high flexibility and extension. It may not be the optimal choice for fixed, permanent installations where a standard, non-spiral cable would be more cost-effective and space-efficient. Additionally, it is not intended for high-voltage power transmission beyond its rated capacity.
Key specifications
Length: 1 m (extendable up to 3.5 m)
Rated voltage: 300/500 V
Cross-section: 0.75 mm²
Material: Polyurethane (PUR) outer sheath
Color: Yellow
Properties: Halogen-free, oil-resistant, high restoring forces
How to use
To use the Lapp ÖLFLEX Spiral 540 P, ensure that the connection points are clean and compatible with the cable's cross-section. Secure the cable ends firmly to the equipment to prevent strain on the terminals during extension. When installing, avoid over-stretching the cable beyond its maximum recommended extension length to maintain the integrity of the spiral shape and the internal conductors over time.
What to consider before purchase
Verify the required extension length for your specific application
Ensure the 0.75 mm² cross-section meets your equipment's current requirements
Check compatibility with existing cable glands and connection interfaces
Assess the environmental conditions to ensure the PUR sheath is suitable for the specific chemicals present
Usage recommendations: Regularly inspect the cable for signs of mechanical wear or damage to the outer sheath, especially if used in areas with heavy machinery vibration. Ensure the cable is not subjected to sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that could compromise the insulation.
