## Long description

The Opinel Luxury Atelier Ebony 08 folding pocket knife is a premium cutting tool that combines traditional craftsmanship with an elegant design, making it suitable for everyday carry, outdoor tasks, and collection purposes. Featuring an exquisite ebony wood handle and a durable stainless steel blade, this knife ensures reliable performance and a sophisticated appearance for various daily activities.
Advantages
The knife offers exceptional cutting performance thanks to its sharp stainless steel blade, which resists corrosion and requires minimal maintenance during regular use. The handle is crafted from luxurious ebony wood, providing a comfortable grip and a unique aesthetic appeal due to the natural grain variations. Additionally, the integrated locking mechanism ensures safe operation by keeping the blade securely open during use and firmly closed when stored in a pocket or bag.
Suitable for
Everyday carry and general pocket knife utility
Outdoor tasks such as light camping and hiking preparation
Slicing food, fruit, and picnic items
Knife collection and gifting for enthusiasts of traditional craftsmanship
When it may not be suitable
This knife is not designed for heavy-duty survival tasks, batoning wood, or prying, as folding pocket knives have limitations compared to fixed-blade tools. Furthermore, due to the natural ebony wood handle and polished finish, extensive exposure to moisture or harsh dishwashers may affect the appearance and integrity of the materials.
Key specifications
Blade material: Stainless steel
Handle material: Ebony wood
Blade type: Folding pocket knife
Locking system: Virobloc safety ring
How to use
To use the Opinel Luxury Atelier Ebony 08, unfold the blade completely until it is fully extended. Rotate the safety ring located at the base of the collar to lock the blade in place for secure cutting operations. After use, unlock the mechanism by rotating the safety ring in the opposite direction, carefully fold the blade back into the wooden handle, and secure the ring again for safe storage.
What to consider before purchase
Verify local laws and regulations regarding the carrying of folding pocket knives in public spaces.
Note that ebony wood is a natural material, meaning each handle features unique grain patterns and color tones.
Consider the manual locking ring operation compared to spring-assisted or one-handed opening mechanisms.
Usage recommendations: Clean the stainless steel blade with a damp cloth after each use and dry it thoroughly before folding. Apply a light mineral oil to the blade and wooden handle periodically to maintain the finish and ensure smooth mechanical operation of the locking ring. Avoid soaking the knife in water.
