## Summary description

ORBIS plumbing pliers model 77-2550/2022 are adjustable water-pump style pliers with a slip-joint/adjustable jaw position for gripping pipes, fittings and fasteners. Designed for plumbing and general maintenance, they provide variable jaw opening and serrated gripping surfaces for handling round and hex profiles, useful for tightening, loosening and holding work.

## Long description

ORBIS 77-2550/2022 plumbing pliers are adjustable water-pump style pliers with a slip-joint design that allows rapid change of jaw opening for gripping pipes, fittings and fasteners. Constructed for plumbing and general maintenance tasks, the tool features serrated gripping surfaces and a curved lower jaw to hold round and hex profiles securely. The adjustable mechanism provides multiple positions for different diameters, enabling tightening, loosening and holding operations with controlled bite and reach.
Advantages
The slip-joint adjustment delivers quick, reliable changes in jaw width without tools, while the water-pump style geometry increases leverage for turning pipes and fittings. Serrated jaws improve grip on wet or oily surfaces, and the curved profile helps center round objects to reduce slippage. The pliers are compact enough for confined locations yet offer sufficient opening range for a variety of plumbing components.
Suitable for
Gripping and turning metal and plastic pipes
Holding and adjusting fittings and couplings
Loosening or tightening hex nuts and fasteners in maintenance work
General plumbing, repair and installation tasks
Key specifications
Tool type: adjustable water-pump pliers with slip-joint
Jaw configuration: serrated gripping surfaces with curved lower jaw
Adjustment: multiple jaw positions for variable opening
Intended use: plumbing and general maintenance
Grip style: manual hand tool for one-handed operation
How to use
Open the pliers to the required jaw position by sliding the slip-joint to align the desired setting, then close the handles around the workpiece so the serrated jaws seat on the pipe, fitting or fastener. Apply steady hand pressure to turn or hold the component, repositioning the slip-joint if a different jaw width is needed. Maintain a firm grip and avoid sudden torque spikes; for stubborn fittings use controlled, incremental force while repositioning hands to preserve leverage.
Usage recommendations
Use the pliers on clean contact surfaces when possible and select the smallest effective jaw opening to maximize bite. Avoid using the tool as a hammer or prying device. For long-term performance, clean off debris after use and store in a dry place; inspect teeth and adjustment mechanism periodically and replace the tool if wear compromises grip.
