Offering a focal range that produces an angle of view from approximately 180° to 100°, the lens delivers distinctive fish-eye distortion and nearly circular images on full-frame bodies when the removable hood is used. The optical design (10 elements in 8 groups) includes ED glass, inner focusing and advanced multi-layer HD Coating to reduce flare and ghosting while maintaining high resolution and contrast across the frame. The front element also receives PENTAX SP fluorine coating for easier maintenance.
