## Summary description

The POC Obex MIPS Black is an open-face helmet designed for safety and comfort. It features a hard shell construction made from ABS and polycarbonate materials, ensuring durability. The matte finish adds a sleek look, making it suitable for various outdoor activities.

## Long description

The POC Obex MIPS Black is an open-face helmet designed to deliver adaptable protection, safety, and comfort for skiers and snowboarders across the entire mountain. Featuring a durable dual-material shell construction combining an EPS liner, a PC shell, and an ABS top shell, this helmet balances long-lasting security with everyday wearability. The integrated MIPS system enhances protection against rotational impacts, while the sleek matte finish ensures a modern look for various winter outdoor activities.
Advantages
The helmet provides lightweight performance without compromising on structural integrity, making it suitable for extended wear throughout the day. Its interior size adjustment system spans the complete circumference of the head to facilitate a precise and secure fit without requiring padding changes. Users can easily regulate airflow using the sliding vent covers, while front-integrated vents work effectively to prevent goggle fogging by evacuating warm air.
Suitable for
All-mountain skiing
Snowboarding sessions
All-day winter resort use
When it may not be suitable, this open-face design does not offer the extended facial or chin protection required for high-risk competitive disciplines such as downhill racing or extreme freeride stunts. It is specifically tailored for general resort skiing and snowboarding rather than motorized winter sports.
Key specifications
MIPS rotational impact protection system
Dual-material shell with EPS liner, PC shell, and ABS top shell
Fully adjustable ventilation with sliding vent covers
Integrated front vents for goggle anti-fog compatibility
Circumference size adjustment system
Compatible with POC AID communication headsets
Designed for seamless fit with POC goggles
To use the helmet correctly, place it firmly on your head and adjust the circumference sizing system until a snug yet comfortable fit is achieved. Fasten the chin strap securely before heading out on the slopes. Adjust the sliding vent covers manually depending on weather conditions to maintain optimal thermal comfort, and ensure your goggles align with the front ventilation channel to prevent fogging.
What to consider before purchase
Verify your head circumference to ensure compatibility with the internal adjustment system
Confirm compatibility if you plan to use specific communication headsets or goggles from the same brand
Assess your primary winter sports activities to ensure an open-face helmet meets your safety requirements
Usage recommendations: Regularly inspect the helmet shell, liner, and strap system for any signs of wear or impact damage. Store the helmet in a dry, temperature-controlled environment away from direct sunlight and harsh chemicals to maintain its protective properties over time.
