PolyLite™ LW-PLA is a pre-foamed PLA filament in bright yellow (Polymaker PA08009) that prints with similar settings to regular PLA while producing parts approximately half the weight. How to use
Load the 1.75 mm PolyLite™ LW-PLA filament into a standard FDM/FFF 3D printer and use typical PLA settings as a baseline. Recommended printing temperature range is 190°C–210°C and bed temperature 30°C–50°C. Print speeds between 25 mm/s and 60 mm/s are suitable. Enable part cooling fan. For direct-drive extruders start with a retraction distance of about 3 mm and retraction speed of 40 mm/s; for Bowden/indirect-drive setups start with ~6 mm retraction and 60 mm/s retraction speed. Adjust retraction slightly if needed to reduce stringing.
Usage recommendations
If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 55°C for 6 hours before printing. For higher surface quality, print at the lower end of the recommended temperature range (around 190°C) and use standard PLA slicer profiles with only minor retraction adjustments.
