## Long description

The RAIDSONIC ICY BOX IB-AC729 HDD Adapter Frame is a practical mounting solution designed to adapt 2.5-inch hard disk drives and solid-state drives from a height of 7 mm to 9.5 mm. Constructed from durable black injection-molded plastic, this adapter bracket ensures that thinner storage drives fit securely and properly align inside standard 9.5 mm drive bays. It is an essential component for upgrading laptops or desktop storage systems where a secure physical fit is necessary for stable and reliable operation.
Advantages
This adapter frame provides a reliable way to install a slim 7 mm drive into a standard 9.5 mm slot without loose fitting or vibration issues. The inclusion of two strong adhesive-mounting tapes ensures that the hard drive or solid-state drive remains firmly fixed in place during daily operation. Made from high-quality injection-molded plastic, the frame offers structural stability while adding minimal weight to the overall assembly. The straightforward design facilitates a seamless installation process for both professionals and everyday users.
Suitable for
Upgrading laptops with a 7 mm SSD or HDD to fit a 9.5 mm drive bay
Installing secondary storage drives in notebook computer expansion slots
Securing 2.5-inch storage media in external enclosures or server caddies designed for 9.5 mm heights
This product may not be suitable for systems that require direct screw-mounting mechanisms without adhesive tape, or for applications involving 3.5-inch desktop drives and ultra-slim 5 mm storage devices.
Key specifications
Compatible drive type: 2.5-inch HDD and SSD
Height conversion: From 7 mm to 9.5 mm
Material: High-quality injection-molded plastic
Color: Black
Mounting accessories: Includes two strong adhesive-mounting tapes
To use the adapter frame, first ensure that your hard disk drive or solid-state drive has a 7 mm height profile. Clean the contact surfaces of your drive and place it inside the plastic adapter frame so that it aligns correctly with the edges and mounting holes. Secure the drive using the included adhesive-mounting tapes by pressing firmly to guarantee a stable bond. Once the drive is securely attached to the frame, slide the assembly into the 9.5 mm drive bay of your computer or enclosure, ensuring all internal connectors line up properly before fastening.
What to consider before purchase
Verify the exact height of your current hard drive or SSD to confirm it is 7 mm
Check the drive bay specifications of your laptop or enclosure to ensure it requires a 9.5 mm height
Consider whether adhesive-mounting tape is acceptable for your specific hardware setup
Usage recommendations: Handle the plastic adapter frame carefully during installation to avoid damaging the alignment clips. Ensure the drive connectors are fully engaged with the system port after installation to prevent intermittent connection failures.
