The velociraptor was a small bipedal carnivore, reaching approximately 60–70 cm in height. It had a flat snout with around eighty curved, sharp teeth, some up to 2.5 cm long, and used a stiff tail to maintain balance during fast runs and quick turns, with estimated speeds reaching up to 65 km/h.
