Key specifications
Category: Cat.5e
Cable type: U/UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)
Configuration: 4x2x0.5
Length: 500 meters
Application: Outdoor
How to use
To install the cable, ensure that it is routed through appropriate conduits or secured with weather-resistant cable ties to prevent mechanical stress. When terminating the cable, use compatible Cat.5e connectors and ensure that the outer jacket is properly stripped without damaging the internal copper conductors. Always maintain the recommended bend radius to avoid signal degradation and ensure the cable is protected from sharp edges or excessive tension during the installation process.
What to consider before purchase
Verify the total distance required for your installation to ensure the 500m length is sufficient.
Confirm that your networking equipment supports Cat.5e standards.
Check local building regulations regarding outdoor cabling requirements.
Ensure you have the necessary tools for stripping and terminating twisted pair cables.
Usage recommendations
For optimal performance, avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines to minimize potential electromagnetic interference. Ensure all outdoor connections are housed in weather-sealed junction boxes to prevent moisture ingress and oxidation of the contacts.
