## Long description

The Sera Magnet Cleaner Floating XS is a floating magnetic aquarium glass cleaner specifically engineered for cleaning aquarium glass with a thickness of up to 4 mm. This practical aquarium maintenance tool allows users to efficiently remove algae and organic deposits from the interior glass surface while keeping hands completely dry. Featuring a clever floating design, the inner cleaning element prevents the device from sinking to the bottom of the tank if the magnetic connection is accidentally broken, ensuring easy and stress-free retrieval during routine cleaning sessions.
Advantages
The floating magnetic cleaner offers a reliable way to maintain crystal-clear aquarium viewing panes without disrupting the aquatic environment or requiring manual immersion of hands into the water. Its compact construction provides a comfortable grip and precise control along the glass corners and edges. Because the inner piece floats, it minimizes the risk of scratching the glass with trapped sand or gravel that might otherwise lie at the bottom. The durable cleaning surfaces effectively target stubborn algae films while remaining gentle on the aquarium glass.
Suitable for
Aquariums with glass thickness up to 4 mm
Freshwater and saltwater aquarium glass maintenance
Regular removal of green and brown algae films
Aquarists seeking a dry-hand cleaning method
When it may not be suitable
This cleaner is not designed for thick aquarium glass exceeding 4 mm, as the magnetic force will be insufficient to hold the elements together securely. It is also not suitable for removing hardened, calcified deposits or heavy mineral crusts that require a specialized metal scraper.
Key specifications
Designed for glass thickness up to 4 mm
Floating inner element to prevent sinking
Magnetic connection for two-part cleaning
Compact XS size for smaller aquariums
How to use
Separate the two parts of the magnetic cleaner and place the inner cleaning element inside the aquarium against the glass, holding the outer handle on the outside of the tank. Align the outer handle with the inner element until the magnets engage through the glass. Move the outer handle in smooth, sweeping motions horizontally or vertically across the glass surface to wipe away algae. To navigate corners or switch panes, slide the cleaner carefully without pulling it directly away from the glass. If the magnets disconnect, the inner element will float to the water surface for effortless retrieval.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your aquarium glass thickness does not exceed 4 mm
Ensure the tank location allows adequate clearance to move the outer magnet freely
Check that the tank is made of standard glass compatible with magnetic cleaners
Usage recommendations: Inspect the cleaning surfaces regularly for trapped debris or gravel particles before each use to prevent scratching the aquarium glass. Store the cleaner in a dry place when not in use and rinse the inner element with clean water after maintenance.
