## Long description

The SmallRig Crab-Shaped Clamp is a reliable and durable mounting solution designed for secure attachment of photographic and video accessories. Constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum and high-quality plastic in a sleek black finish, this clamp provides robust performance for studio and field setups. It features a standard 1/4 inch mounting point alongside 1/4"-20 threaded and locating holes, allowing seamless integration with a wide variety of photo and video gear. With dimensions of 98.6 mm width, 24 mm depth, and 71.2 mm height, it offers a compact yet sturdy build.
Advantages
This crab-shaped clamp features an innovative swivel tip enhancement that significantly increases the contact area, ensuring a more stable grip on both flat and tubular objects. The maximum clamping range of 50mm or 2 inches is lined with protective anti-slip pads that enhance stability while preventing scratches on your mounting surfaces. Made from aerospace-grade aluminum, the structure delivers exceptional strength and long-lasting durability for professional environments.
Suitable for
Attaching monitors, LED lights, and microphones to camera rigs
Mounting accessories onto rods, tubes, and pipes
Securing gear to flat surfaces, desks, and shelves in studio environments
Field video production setups requiring quick and stable accessory mounting
This clamp may not be suitable for mounting heavy cinema cameras, large broadcast lenses, or equipment exceeding the 50mm maximum clamping range and safe weight limits of a standard crab clamp. It is also not intended for permanent structural installations or high-load industrial applications outside of photography and videography.
Key specifications
Material: Aluminium and plastic
Colour: Black
Mounting interface: 1/4"-20 threaded holes and 1/4"-20 locating holes
Max clamping range: 50 mm / 2 inches
Dimensions: 98.6 mm x 24 mm x 71.2 mm
To use the SmallRig Crab-Shaped Clamp, first ensure the mounting surface is clean and within the 50 mm maximum thickness limit. Open the clamp jaws by turning the adjustment screw, position the clamp onto the target rod, tube, or flat surface, and tighten the screw securely until the anti-slip pads make firm contact. Attach your photographic or video accessory to the 1/4"-20 threaded or locating holes and verify that the equipment is stable before operation.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your equipment uses a standard 1/4" mounting screw or compatible interface
Measure the diameter of your mounting tubes or the thickness of flat surfaces to ensure they do not exceed the 50 mm limit
Assess the weight of your accessories to ensure safe and balanced mounting
Usage recommendations: Regularly inspect the anti-slip pads and tightening mechanism for wear to maintain optimal grip stability. Do not overtighten the clamp beyond necessary resistance to protect your mounting surfaces and equipment threads. Store the clamp in a dry environment when not in use to preserve the aluminum and plastic components.
