## Long description

The SmallRig 915 15mm Micro Rod with 1/4 inch Thread Aluminium Black is a precision-engineered accessory designed to expand professional camera rigs and video equipment setups. It features a standard 1/4 inch threaded connection, making it an essential component for videographers and photographers seeking to customize and secure their camera cage configurations.
Advantages
Constructed from high-grade aluminium, the SmallRig 915 micro rod offers an exceptional balance of lightweight portability and long-lasting structural durability. Its standardized design ensures seamless compatibility with any compatible 15mm rod clamp and standard 1/4 inch threaded mounting points. The integrated 1/4 inch screw allows for direct and secure attachment to quick release plates, streamlining the assembly process of complex video production rigs without adding unnecessary weight to the setup.
Suitable for
Expanding camera cage configurations with additional mounting points
Attaching accessories via standard 15mm rod clamps
Securing quick release plates equipped with 1/4 inch threaded holes
Building compact and lightweight professional video rigs
When it may not be suitable
This micro rod is not designed to support heavy equipment extensions that require longer rod lengths for balanced weight distribution. It may also prove insufficient if your specific camera setup relies on non-standard rod diameters or requires clamping mechanisms larger than 15mm.
Key specifications
Rod diameter: 15mm
Thread size: 1/4 inch
Material: Aluminium
Color: Black
How to use
To integrate the micro rod into your setup, insert the 15mm end securely into a compatible 15mm rod clamp on your camera cage or support system and tighten the locking mechanism. Use the integrated 1/4 inch threaded screw to attach compatible accessories or quick release plates, ensuring all connections are firmly fastened before mounting your camera or equipment.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that your existing camera rig or cage utilizes standard 15mm rod clamps
Check the thread compatibility of your accessories to ensure they match the 1/4 inch screw connection
Assess whether the micro rod length is sufficient for your specific mounting requirements
To maintain the longevity of the black aluminium finish and threaded connections, store the micro rod in a dry environment and avoid overtightening the screws during rig assembly.
