## Long description

The SMARTMAX Cotman Watercolor Metallic Pocket Set 9 Pieces 1/2 Pan is a compact and versatile art supply designed for artists, students, and hobbyists who want to incorporate shimmering metallic effects into their creative projects. Featuring a portable design, this pocket-sized set is easy to carry for outdoor sketching, urban sketching, and painting while traveling. The selection of vibrant metallic shades allows users to add unique highlights, elegant accents, and dimensional depth to watercolors, illustrations, and mixed media artwork.
Advantages
This watercolour set provides high-quality metallic pigments that apply smoothly and offer reliable performance on various paper types. The compact pocket case includes integrated mixing areas, making it a self-contained kit for painting on location without needing extra equipment. The half pans are securely held within the set and can be easily accessed or replaced as needed. Its lightweight construction ensures it fits effortlessly into a backpack, bag, or art kit.
Suitable for
Outdoor sketching and plein air painting
Adding metallic highlights to illustrations and paintings
Mixed media art projects and calligraphy
Travel journaling and hobby painting
When it may not be suitable
This set may not be ideal for large-scale professional studio works where extensive colour mixing palettes and full pans are required. It is also not formulated for fabric painting, ceramic glazing, or heavy-duty outdoor signage.
Key specifications
9 half pans of metallic watercolour paint
Portable pocket-sized plastic case
Integrated mixing surfaces inside the lid
Lightweight design suitable for travel
How to use
To begin painting, open the pocket case and use a wet brush to activate the metallic watercolour half pans. Stir the brush gently on the pan surface until the pigment lifts, then apply it directly to watercolour paper. You can adjust the water ratio to achieve different levels of opacity and shimmer. Clean the brush thoroughly with water between colour changes and allow the set to dry completely before closing the case for storage.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that metallic watercolours suit your specific artistic style and project requirements
Note that the set includes 9 half pans, which is optimized for portability rather than an extensive studio colour range
Check compatibility with your preferred watercolour paper and mixed media surfaces
Usage recommendations: For the best visual results, apply these metallic watercolours over dried dark or tinted paper to enhance the shimmering contrast, or layer them on top of standard dry watercolour washes for luminous accent details.
