## Long description

The StarTech.com 2m gray ultra slim Cat6A Ethernet cable is engineered for high-speed network connections and demanding data environments. Designed with a length of 2 meters, this network patch cord combines high performance with exceptional flexibility, making it an ideal choice for modern office networks, server rooms, and data centers. The cable features U/FTP shielding to protect against electromagnetic interference, a snagless design to prevent connector damage during installation, and pure bare copper wire to ensure stable signal transmission. Supporting data transfer rates up to 10000 Mbit/s, this cable meets rigorous networking demands while maintaining a compact profile that facilitates efficient cable management in confined spaces.
Advantages
This ultra slim Ethernet cable is significantly thinner than standard Cat6a cables, which dramatically improves airflow and heat dissipation in high-density server racks and congested patch panels. Its enhanced flexibility allows for effortless routing through tight spaces, around corners, and between densely packed networking equipment. The integration of pure bare copper wire and U/FTP shielding ensures reliable, high-speed data transmission with minimal signal loss and interference. Additionally, the durable construction featuring gold-plated contacts and a flexible outer jacket guarantees long-term operational reliability and precise connector mating.
Suitable for
Connecting switches, routers, and network adapters in high-density server racks
Optimizing cable management in confined office spaces and wiring closets
High-speed wired connections requiring up to 10Gbit/s data transfer rates
Environments where improved airflow and reduced cable bulk are critical
When it may not be suitable
This cable is not rated for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications and should not be used to power network devices such as IP cameras or VoIP phones that rely on the Ethernet cable for electrical power. Furthermore, installations requiring extreme outdoor weather resistance or direct burial will need specialized cabling solutions rather than this standard indoor patch cord.
Key specifications

Connector 1: RJ-45 male
Connector 2: RJ-45 male
Data transfer rate: Up to 10000 Mbit/s

How to use
To use the network patch cord, simply take the cable and insert the RJ-45 connector into the designated network port of your device, such as a switch, router, or computer, until you hear a secure click. Ensure that the snagless boot is properly aligned to avoid catching on adjacent cables or equipment during insertion. Route the cable neatly through your rack, cable tray, or desk setup, taking advantage of its slim profile to maintain proper bending radiuses. Finally, connect the opposite end to the corresponding port on your target networking hardware to establish an instant, high-speed wired connection.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that the 2-meter length is sufficient to bridge the distance between your networked devices without excessive slack
Confirm that your network equipment utilizes standard RJ-45 ports supporting Cat6a performance
Check whether your application requires Power over Ethernet, as this specific cable model is not PoE rated
Assess your rack density to determine if an ultra-slim cable profile will benefit your airflow and organization needs
Usage recommendations: Handle the cable with care during installation by avoiding sharp bends that exceed the natural flexibility of the 34AWG wire. Periodically inspect connections to ensure plugs remain securely seated in their respective ports, and keep the cable away from heavy foot traffic areas or sharp metal edges to preserve the integrity of the shielding and outer jacket.
