The PEX1S553LP converts a PCIe slot into one RS232 (DB9) serial connection and uses a native single-chip design to take advantage of PCI Express performance while reducing CPU load compared with conventional bridge-chip serial cards. The card ships with a low-profile/half-height bracket installed and includes an optional full-height bracket so it can be installed in virtually any desktop or small form factor case. It is compatible with a wide range of operating systems and replaces the previous PEX1S552LP model.
