Thermal Grizzly TG Putty is an electrically non-conductive, easy-to-apply gap filler developed as an alternative to conventional thermal pads. It is intended for GPU modifications and for replacing thermal pads between the PCB and the cooler. TG Putty comes in variants with different thermal conductivities and compensates height differences from 0.2 mm to 3.0 mm.
Advantages
TG Putty is electrically non-conductive and flexible, allowing large-area application with the supplied spatulas. It fills uneven gaps and replaces multiple thicknesses of factory thermal pads on graphics cards. The product is available in three versions that differ mainly in thermal conductivity: Basic (medium), Advance (good) and Pro (excellent). Apply TG Putty using the included spatulas to fill the gap evenly and to achieve the desired thickness. Use the spatulas to spread the putty over large areas where necessary. Do not apply TG Putty directly onto a processor IHS, Direct Die, or the GPU die.
Usage recommendations
For a smaller graphics card without an active backplate (for example GeForce GTX 1060), one 30 g container is usually sufficient. For larger graphics cards (for example GeForce RTX 4090) one 30 g container generally covers the front-side memory and VRM; the back side may require approximately two 30 g containers if a larger uniform gap must be filled. TG Putty must not be used on CPU IHS, Direct Die, or directly on the GPU die. Ensure surfaces are clean and degreased before application.
