Drive bay panel Chieftec CBP-3141SAS Black
The Chieftec CBP-3141SAS drive bay panel is a compact black backplane designed to fit into three 5.25" external bays and provide mounting space for up to four 3.5" or 2.5" hard drives or SSDs. Constructed from high-quality aluminum and featuring a patented anti-vibration design, it supports both SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II interfaces and includes SATA cables for straightforward connectivity. The unit accepts one 80 mm fan for improved airflow and has overall dimensions of 146 mm (W) × 202 mm (D) × 126 mm (H), with a product weight of 1.79 kg.
The aluminum chassis offers durability and lightweight construction while the patented anti-vibration design reduces drive vibration and noise during operation. Compatibility with SATA I/II/III and SAS I/II ensures flexibility for mixed drive installations, and included SATA cables simplify setup. The form factor uses three 5.25" bays to provide four drive positions, conserving space in standard PC cases.
Install the CBP-3141SAS into three consecutive 5.25" front bays of your PC chassis and secure it with the supplied screws. Mount your 3.5" or 2.5" drives into the drive slots following the orientation indicated by the chassis. Connect the drives to your motherboard or RAID controller using the included SATA cables or appropriate SAS cables for SAS drives. If additional cooling is required, install an 80 mm fan into the provided fan slot and connect it to a fan header or power source. After connections are made, verify that the drives are detected in the system BIOS/UEFI before loading the operating system.
For stable operation, use matching drive types when possible and ensure secure cable connections. If using SAS drives, confirm controller compatibility and cabling. Allow space for adequate airflow around the bay panel and consider enabling any fan controls in BIOS or your operating system to manage temperatures under load.
