Heating Cable DEVI ICE 30 W/m self-regulating anti-icing cable 180 W 6 m

The DEVI ICE 30 W/m self-regulating anti-icing cable is a 6 m heating cable with a total rated power of 180 W, designed for outdoor frost protection and de-icing tasks. Its self-regulating polymer core adjusts heat output according to ambient temperature, increasing power where cold accumulates and reducing power as temperature rises. The cable is intended for use on gutters, downspouts, roof edges and short pipe runs to prevent ice buildup and reduce the risk of blocked drainage and ice dams.

Advantages

The cable’s self-regulating design provides automatic power adjustment along its length, which improves energy efficiency and reduces the need for complex control systems. Its compact, flexible construction simplifies routing and attachment to roof edges, gutters and pipes. The product is built for outdoor use and delivers stable de-icing performance in cold conditions while limiting overheating when sections warm up.

Suitable for

• Frost protection of gutters and downspouts
• Removing or preventing ice formation on roof edges and eaves
• De-icing short water pipes and outdoor piping runs
• Targeted anti-icing applications where a 6 m cable and ~180 W total output are appropriate

When it may not be suitable

The DEVI ICE 30 W/m cable is intended for localized anti-icing and short runs; it is not designed to heat large roof areas, extensive pipe networks, or replace full-area roof de-icing systems. For long continuous runs or applications requiring precise temperature control, additional controls, multiple cables or a different specification may be required.

Key specifications

• Linear heat output: 30 W per metre (at reference low temperature)
• Total length: 6 m
• Total rated power: 180 W
• Self-regulating heating element: polymer core that varies output with ambient temperature
• Suitable for outdoor installation on roofs, gutters, downspouts and short pipe sections

How to use

Install the cable along the gutter troughs, downspouts or pipe runs that require frost protection, following local electrical codes and installation instructions. Secure the cable with appropriate clips or fixed fasteners at recommended intervals to ensure contact with the substrate. Connect the cable to a suitably protected power supply and a weatherproof junction or connection point. For improved safety and efficiency, use a thermostat, ice/snow sensor or a residual-current device (RCD) as recommended by local regulations and DEVI installation guidelines.

What to consider before purchase

• Assess the total length and power needed for the area to be protected; this product provides 6 m and 180 W total output
• Verify compatibility with local electrical supply and grounding requirements
• Plan mounting method and accessories (clips, connectors, junction boxes) suitable for outdoor use
• Check whether additional control devices (timers, sensors, RCDs) are needed for safety and efficiency

Usage recommendations

Use the DEVI ICE cable for targeted de-icing of gutters, downspouts and short pipe runs. Ensure professional or qualified electrical installation where required, follow manufacturer guidance for outdoor connections, and combine the cable with appropriate sensors or protection devices to optimize performance and energy use.
