Speaker cable Procab BLS215-ECA/1 2 x 1.5 mm², 100 m roll

Procab BLS215-ECA/1 is a two-conductor speaker cable supplied on a 100 m roll, with each conductor having a 1.5 mm² cross-section. It is designed to transmit audio signals between amplifiers and loudspeakers in domestic environments, small commercial installations and portable PA systems. The cable offers a balance between flexibility and conductor area, suitable for fixed in-wall or surface wiring and for runs where maintaining low signal loss is important.

Advantages

This speaker cable combines a clear conductor cross-section with durable insulation to ensure reliable audio transfer over medium-length runs. The 1.5 mm² conductors reduce resistance compared with thinner speaker wire, lowering power loss and helping maintain sound quality. Supplied on a 100 m roll, the cable is convenient for continuous runs and multiple speaker circuits, while the two-core construction simplifies polarity identification and installation.

Suitable for

• Fixed domestic speaker installations (living rooms, home theatre, multi-room audio)
• Small commercial audio setups and background music systems
• Portable PA and rehearsal wiring where a moderate conductor size is required
• Surface or concealed cable runs where a 100 m roll reduces joins

When it may not be suitable

This cable is not intended for high-power professional tour systems that require larger conductor cross-sections to minimise voltage drop over very long runs. It is also not suitable where specialized shielding or individual conductor jackets are required for intense electromagnetic interference environments.

Key specifications

• Conductors: 2 cores
• Conductor cross-section: 1.5 mm² per core
• Length: 100 m roll
• Intended use: speaker/audio signal transmission
• Construction: parallel twin conductor cable with insulation

How to use

Strip the outer insulation and the individual conductors to the length required for secure connections to amplifier and speaker terminals, observing correct polarity. Route the cable along walls, through conduits or inside ceilings as needed, securing with appropriate clips or fixings. For long runs, check impedance and level at the far end to ensure acceptable power transfer; consider increasing conductor size if signal loss is excessive.

What to consider before purchase

• Required run length and whether a single 100 m roll is sufficient
• Power and impedance of the amplifier and speakers to ensure 1.5 mm² is adequate
• Installation environment (concealed, exposed, through conduits) and local building or fire codes

Usage recommendations

Use the Procab BLS215-ECA/1 for medium-length speaker runs in homes, small venues and PA setups. Maintain correct polarity, avoid tight bends, and secure the cable at regular intervals. If planning very long or high-power runs, evaluate conductor size requirements to keep voltage drop and power loss within acceptable limits.
