Fibre optic connector QOLTEC 54099
Fibre optic connector QOLTEC 54099 is a singlemode pigtail designed for precise termination and joining of optical fibres in telecommunications and data networks. Built to the G.652.D standard and fitted with an LC/APC connector, this 1 m, 0.9 mm diameter pigtail provides a stable mechanical interface for splicing, patch panels and direct equipment connections where low loss and back reflection reduction are required.
This QOLTEC pigtail combines a standard singlemode G.652.D fibre with an LC/APC connector to deliver consistent alignment and low insertion loss. The 0.9 mm buffered cable diameter ensures flexibility and easy handling during installation in confined spaces or patch cabinets. Supplied at 1 m length, it is ready for immediate use in common termination and repair tasks without additional preparation.
Prepare the fibre optic cable and splice tray according to standard fibre handling procedures. Strip the primary coating and clean the bare fibre before fusion splicing or mechanical splicing to the pigtail. Route the 0.9 mm buffered pigtail through the management system or splice enclosure to the LC/APC patch panel or equipment port and secure it with appropriate strain relief. After splicing, perform inspection and optical loss tests to verify connection quality and ensure low insertion loss and acceptable return loss.
Handle the LC/APC connector endface carefully to avoid contamination or scratches. Use lint-free wipes and appropriate cleaning solution prior to mating. Maintain bend radii greater than manufacturer minimums for 0.9 mm buffered singlemode fibre and protect splices inside splice trays to ensure long-term network performance.
