The StarTech.com 2-port PCI Express RS232 serial adapter (PEX2S953) adds two DB9 RS232 serial ports to a computer via a PCI Express slot, allowing connection to serial devices such as card readers, printers, PIN pads and modems. The adapter uses an ASIX AX99100 16950-compatible UART chipset and supports baud rates up to 921.6 Kbps. It includes both full- and low-profile brackets and provides 5/12V power on pin 9 when external power is connected.
