ABB WZ/S1.3.1.2 Digital/Analogue I/O Module
The ABB WZ/S1.3.1.2 Digital/Analogue I/O Module, also known as the Wetterzentrale, is a specialized device designed for the precise acquisition and processing of weather-related data. It serves as a central hub for connecting and managing information from the dedicated WES/A weather sensor, ensuring reliable signal processing within building automation systems. The module features an integrated power supply to support the connected sensor, facilitating seamless operation in various environmental monitoring setups.
This module offers robust data processing capabilities, allowing for the collection of critical environmental parameters such as twilight, brightness from three distinct directions, rain detection, temperature, wind speed, and temporal data including date and time. With its integrated power supply, the unit simplifies system architecture by eliminating the need for external sensor power sources. The inclusion of four value memories, each capable of storing 24 values, provides excellent data logging functionality for historical analysis and system optimization.
This device is exclusively designed for use with the ABB WES/A weather sensor and will not function with third-party sensors or other sensor types. It is not intended for general-purpose industrial I/O applications that do not involve weather data processing.
The module is designed for installation within a standard control cabinet. Once mounted, it must be connected to the ABB WES/A weather sensor according to the technical wiring diagrams provided in the installation manual. The integrated power supply unit will automatically provide the necessary voltage to the sensor once the main power supply is connected. Configuration should be performed via the appropriate software tools to define the processing logic for the received weather data.
Usage recommendations: Regularly check the stored data in the value memories to ensure the system is capturing environmental changes accurately and perform periodic inspections of the external weather sensor to maintain data integrity.
