Door/Window Sensor ABUS VT4000W
The ABUS VT4000W is a wired door/window sensor designed to detect opening and closing of doors and windows as part of a security system. Available in white and brown finishes, the sensor has a compact rectangular housing that fits unobtrusively on frames. With physical dimensions of 115 mm width, 40 mm depth and 19 mm height, the unit is intended for reliable wired connectivity to alarm control panels and wired security installations.
The sensor offers a low-profile form factor suitable for many frame types while providing a mechanical switch output for wired alarm systems. Its two colour options allow better visual integration with interior fittings. The small footprint and shallow depth make installation possible on narrow frames and sashes. As a wired device it avoids the need for batteries and reduces maintenance related to power supply.
Position the sensor body and magnet so that they align when the door or window is closed, maintaining the manufacturer's recommended gap for correct operation. Secure the main sensor housing to the fixed frame and the magnet to the moving sash using screws or adhesive as appropriate for the mounting surface. Connect the sensor wiring to the corresponding input terminals on the alarm control panel or wired input module, observing correct polarity and any required tamper or end-of-line resistor configuration as specified by your alarm system documentation. Test the contact by opening and closing the door or window to confirm the alarm panel registers state changes.
Install the sensor in a location protected from direct weather exposure and avoid mounting where repeated impact or rubbing may damage the housing. For outdoor or exposed installations use additional weatherproofing measures and ensure wiring routes are protected. Refer to the alarm system manual for required resistor values or tamper wiring and perform functional testing after installation to verify correct integration.
