Clay sponge ADBL CLAY SPONGE — ADBL car detailing clay applicator
ADBL CLAY SPONGE — ADBL car detailing clay applicator is a soft clay sponge designed to remove surface contaminants and bonded deposits from automotive paint, glass and trim. The sponge format allows controlled contact with the surface while working with a lubricant, reducing the risk of marring compared with traditional hard clay bars and preparing panels for polishing, sealing or coating. The product is intended for preparatory decontamination that improves gloss, smoothness and adhesion of protective products.
The clay sponge conforms to surface contours, providing even contact over curved and flat panels. Its softer, more forgiving composition lowers the chance of surface marring while still effectively removing overspray, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust and environmental contaminants when used with a suitable lubricant. The sponge is easy to handle and rinse, speeds up panel preparation compared with repeated tapping with hard clay, and simplifies safe decontamination of paint, glass and plastic trim.
Start by thoroughly washing and drying the vehicle to remove loose dirt. Spray a generous amount of detailing lubricant onto a small panel or the clay sponge and gently glide the sponge over the surface using light, overlapping strokes until resistance decreases and the surface feels smooth. Fold or reshape the sponge to expose a clean face as needed, and frequently rinse the sponge under running water to remove lifted contaminants. After claying, wipe the panel with a clean microfiber towel and inspect the surface before proceeding to polishing or sealing.
Use with a high-quality clay lubricant or quick detailer to minimize friction. Work one small panel at a time and avoid working on very hot paint or direct sunlight. Replace the sponge if it becomes saturated with embedded particles that cannot be rinsed out to avoid recontamination.
