Indoor temperature and humidity sensor AEOTEC AEOEZWA039 — freestanding, battery-powered, 34×34×17 mm
AEOTEC AEOEZWA039 is a freestanding indoor temperature and humidity sensor for home automation and environmental monitoring. The compact battery-powered unit (34×34×17 mm) measures ambient temperature, relative humidity and dew point, and communicates over Z-Wave 700 series with S2 security and SmartStart support. Designed for placement on shelves, desks or cabinets, it provides continuous environmental readings with up to two years of battery life under factory default settings and conforms to CE and WEEE requirements.
The sensor offers accurate environmental data with temperature measurement from -10°C to 65°C (accuracy ±1°C) and humidity measurement from 0% to 80% RH (accuracy ±3%). Dew point is reported across the same temperature range. Built on Z-Wave 700 series radio with S2 security and SmartStart, the device integrates into compatible Z-Wave networks and smart-home software. Its small footprint and freestanding design make positioning simple without permanent installation, and the low power consumption enables long battery life.
Place the AEOTEC AEOEZWA039 on a flat, stable surface such as a shelf or desk away from direct sunlight, heating vents or sources of steam to ensure representative ambient readings. Include the device into your Z-Wave network using SmartStart or standard inclusion procedures supported by your controller; once included, configure polling and reporting intervals in your controller software as needed. Replace the battery when indicated by your controller or the device’s status reports to maintain continuous operation.
For reliable measurements, place the sensor at least 10–20 cm away from walls, windows and direct heat sources. When integrating with automation rules monitor both temperature and humidity together to detect dew point and potential mould risk, and configure reporting intervals to balance responsiveness and battery life.
