Air separator Afriso AAS 281 with automatic air vent, fixed female thread G1 1/4"A

Afriso AAS 281 is an inline air separator designed for heating and cooling circuits. Fitted with an automatic air vent and a fixed female G1 1/4"A connection, this device captures and removes microbubbles and entrained air from circulating water. By reducing air content, the separator helps stabilize hydraulic performance, lower system noise, diminish corrosion risk and improve heat transfer efficiency in domestic and commercial central heating, chilled water and boiler circuits.

Advantages

The unit integrates an automatic air vent that continuously expels separated air without manual intervention, while the internal separation chamber promotes efficient removal of microbubbles. The fixed female G1 1/4"A connection provides a compact, leak-resistant installation point compatible with common piping layouts. Constructed for continuous operation in closed hydronic systems, the separator contributes to quieter operation and longer component life through reduced aeration and corrosion.

Suitable for

• Domestic central heating systems (radiators, underfloor heating)
• Commercial heating installations and plant rooms
• Chilled water circuits and HVAC systems
• Boiler circuits and closed-loop hydronic systems

When it may not be suitable

The Afriso AAS 281 is intended for closed hydronic systems with compatible G1 1/4"A connections; it is not suitable for open systems or systems that require alternative connection types without appropriate adapters. Very high particulate loads or poorly filtered systems may reduce separation efficiency and require additional filtration or dirt separators.

Key specifications

• Function: air separation and automatic venting for hydronic systems
• Connection type: fixed female thread G1 1/4"A
• Application: heating, chilled water and boiler circuits
• Installation orientation: inline/pipe-mounted
• Operation: continuous automatic air release via built-in vent

How to use

Install the Afriso AAS 281 in the supply or return pipe where flow conditions allow effective bubble rise and separation, following system hydraulics and local plumbing codes. Ensure the unit is accessible for maintenance and that the automatic vent outlet is directed to a suitable drain or condensate path if required by site practice. Flush and filter the system before commissioning to minimize particulate ingress. After installation, monitor system pressure and noise levels; the separator requires no regular manual venting under normal operation.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify pipework compatibility with a fixed female G1 1/4"A connection or plan for an appropriate adapter
• Confirm suitability for closed-loop hydronic systems; not intended for open systems without modification
• Assess system cleanliness—high particulate loads may necessitate additional filtration
• Check available space and orientation for inline installation and access for maintenance

Usage recommendations

For best results, install the AAS 281 near heat emitters or pumps where air accumulates, combine with a magnetic or dirt separator if the system has iron oxide or particulate contamination, and perform initial flushing and filtration before commissioning to maintain efficient air separation and protect system components.
