Sealed Lead-Acid Backup Battery Alarmtec BP12-12 12V 12Ah VRLA
Sealed Lead-Acid Backup Battery Alarmtec BP12-12 12V 12Ah VRLA
The Alarmtec BP12-12 is a sealed lead-acid (VRLA) backup battery with a nominal voltage of 12V and a rated capacity of 12Ah. Designed for standby and cyclic applications, this rechargeable battery provides maintenance-free, sealed power for alarm systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), emergency lighting and telecommunications equipment. Its compact construction and valve-regulated design reduce the need for service while delivering reliable short-term energy during mains outages.
The sealed VRLA design ensures minimal maintenance and eliminates the need for watering or acid handling. With a 12Ah capacity at 12V, the battery offers a balance between compact size and usable backup time for common small- to medium-load installations. The battery is rechargeable and suitable for both standby float charging and cyclic use, giving flexibility for different power-management strategies. Sealed construction and valve regulation enhance operational safety and reduce the risk of leakage.
Install the battery in a dry, well-ventilated enclosure and connect to the host device observing correct polarity. Use a compatible charger or power supply with float charge settings for long-term standby service, or a charger suitable for cyclic charging if the battery will be regularly discharged and recharged. Avoid charging at temperatures outside the manufacturer's recommended range and ensure terminal connections are clean and tight. Replace the battery when capacity no longer meets the backup time required by your application.
Store and operate the battery within recommended ambient temperature limits, keep terminals free of corrosion, and use a charger set for sealed lead-acid batteries. For critical systems, test periodically under load to verify remaining run time and replace after the battery no longer provides adequate backup.
