Adhesive for decals Ammo Ultra Decal-Fix 30 ml

Ammo Ultra Decal-Fix 30 ml is an adhesive designed for applying water-slide decals to scale models, miniatures and diorama elements. The 30 ml formula improves decal conforming and adhesion on common hobby materials such as plastic, metal and painted surfaces, while reducing the risk of silvering. It is suitable for delicate placement and allows brief repositioning before the adhesive sets, making it useful during precise decal work.

Advantages

The solvent-based solution promotes flexible bonding between decal film and substrate, helping decals follow surface contours and panel lines. It enhances adhesion on different finishes and reduces the appearance of trapped air that causes silvering. The 30 ml size is practical for hobbyists and provides enough product for multiple small projects without excess storage bulk.

Suitable for

• Applying water-slide decals to plastic scale models
• Securing decals on painted metal or resin miniatures
• Model kits, diorama vehicles and aircraft with recessed panel lines
• Hobby projects that require precise decal placement and limited repositioning

When it may not be suitable

This adhesive is formulated specifically for water-slide decals and may not be appropriate for self-adhesive stickers, vinyl transfers or non-decal adhesives. It is not a general-purpose structural adhesive and should not be used for bonding large structural parts or materials that require long-term mechanical strength. Users should avoid applying it to untested finishes without a small patch test.

Key specifications

• Volume: 30 ml
• Intended use: water-slide decal adhesive
• Compatible substrates: plastic, metal, painted finishes, resin
• Main function: improve decal conforming and adhesion; reduce silvering
• Application properties: allows delicate placement and brief repositioning before setting

How to use

Prepare the model surface by ensuring it is clean, dry and properly painted or sealed. Cut and soak the water-slide decal according to the decal manufacturer’s instructions, then position it on the model. Apply a thin, even layer of the adhesive over the decal using the applicator or a fine brush. Allow the adhesive to flow and help the decal conform to surface details, smoothing gently as needed. Wait for the adhesive to set fully before handling the model or applying a protective topcoat.

What to consider before purchase

• Designed specifically for water-slide decals, not for self-adhesive stickers or vinyl transfers
• Check compatibility with the model’s paint or finish by testing on a small area
• Small 30 ml size is intended for hobby use; consider quantity for larger projects

Usage recommendations

Work in a well-ventilated area and use minimal amounts to avoid excess solvent affecting delicate paint. For best results, apply on clean, sealed surfaces and allow full drying before overcoating with varnish or lacquer.
