UPS APC Smart SMC1000I-2UC 1000VA 600W Line-Interactive Rackmount 2U 230V, 4×IEC C13, USB, Serial, AVR, SmartConnect
The APC Smart-UPS SMC1000I-2UC is a rackmount line-interactive UPS delivering 1000VA / 600W of backup power in a compact 2U chassis designed for 230V environments. It provides uninterrupted power for small servers, network devices and other critical IT equipment, combining automatic voltage regulation (AVR) with short-term battery support so connected systems remain operational during voltage sags, surges and brief outages. Communication options include USB and serial ports, a SmartConnect remote management interface and a front graphic LCD for real-time status and diagnostics. The unit features four IEC C13 outlets arranged for convenient rack installations and controlled power distribution.
Line-interactive topology with AVR corrects under- and over-voltage conditions without switching to battery, reducing unnecessary battery use and extending runtime for true outages. The 2U rackmount design conserves valuable rack space while delivering 600W of usable power for multiple devices. Built-in communication ports and SmartConnect enable local monitoring, graceful shutdown and cloud-based remote management. The front graphic LCD provides clear operational information and event logs, simplifying maintenance and fault diagnosis.
Install the UPS in a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting hardware. Connect critical equipment to the IEC C13 outlets and plug the UPS into a dedicated 230V mains outlet. Use the front LCD to verify AC mains presence, load level and battery status. Configure the USB or serial connection to a local management station for graceful shutdown settings, or register and enable SmartConnect for secure cloud monitoring and firmware updates. Regularly test battery functionality and perform scheduled runtime checks to confirm the system provides the expected backup duration.
Place the UPS in a ventilated area free of excessive dust and heat; avoid stacking other equipment directly on top. For best results, connect only essential devices to the UPS to maximize available runtime. Schedule periodic battery replacement according to usage and environmental conditions and enable remote monitoring to receive timely alerts about power events and battery health.
